I hate these things/ They are everywhere in the desert Southwest. Never EVER just stick your bare hand in shrubs, use it to pick up yard tools, reach in a garage cupboard, or grab stuff piled in a storage bin. That's asking for it! That web feels like steel wire. If you feel that steely web - get out of there! And the old adage that they're clumsy once off of the web is hooey. I was tormenting one on her web one time, she jumped off and came running at me full speed. Yikes! Vicious things that serve no purpose.
Cyper WP a water suspended powder form of permethrum is effective, and I spray that stuff all over my yard, under the eaves, in the corners of the garage, and the storage shed. It actually works. The prey drags it into her web and she consumes it when she goes to repair her web.
Rarely seen indoors but never just reach up underneath the kitchen or bathroom sink. Fog under that cabinet first.
Good film but scary topic.

Very interesting and informative movie about this spider that opens up, yes, with horror music, (to suck you in no doubt) but never ceases to be interesting spitting out fact after fact about this spider, and it's enemies. Filmed in abundant color and with great photography, this certainly was entertaining, provided the subject. Hope to see more of this series! Highly reccomended!
